Selection Process & Exam Pattern : Bihar Civil Judge Online Form 2026

The selection for BPSC 33rd Judicial Services Examination 2026 will be conducted in three stages: Bihar Civil Judge Online Form 2026.

• Preliminary Examination
• Written (Main) Examination
• Interview (Personality Test)

1. Preliminary Examination

This exam will be objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) and OMR based.

• Mode of Exam: Offline (OMR Based)
• Type of Questions: Objective (MCQ)
• Minimum Qualifying Marks:
  • 45% for Unreserved Category
  • 40% for Reserved Category

Paper Details:

• Paper 1 – General Studies, Total Questions: 100, Total Marks: 100, Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
• Paper 2 – Law, Total Questions: 150, Total Marks: 150, Duration: 2 Hours

2. Written (Main) Examination

The Main Examination will be subjective (descriptive type). Candidates who qualify Preliminary Examination will appear in Main Examination.

Compulsory Papers:

• General Hindi – 100 Marks (3 Hours)
• General English – 100 Marks (3 Hours)
• General Knowledge (including Current Affairs) – 150 Marks (3 Hours)
• Elementary General Science – 100 Marks (3 Hours)
• Law of Evidence & Procedure – 150 Marks (3 Hours)

Optional Papers (Any Three Subjects):

• Constitutional and Administrative Law of India – 150 Marks
• Hindu Law & Muhammadan Law – 150 Marks
• Law of Transfer of Property & Principles of Equity (including Trust & Specific Relief) – 150 Marks
• Law of Contracts & Torts – 150 Marks
• Commercial Law – 150 Marks

Each optional paper duration will be 3 Hours.

Final merit for interview will be prepared based on marks obtained in Main Examination.

3. Interview (Personality Test)

• Total Marks: 100
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 35%

Candidates who qualify in Main Examination will be called for Interview in the ratio of 1:3 based on written marks.

Final selection will be based on total marks obtained in Main Examination and Interview.
