About Post- Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, has released Advertisement No. 01/IIG/HRD/2026 for the recruitment of Research Scholars (JRF/SRF). A total of 26 vacancies are available for the Doctoral Programme in Geomagnetism and Allied Fields including Solid Earth, Space Weather, Upper Atmospheric/Ionospheric Physics and Space Plasma Physics. QUALIFICATION

  • M.Sc. /M.Sc.(Tech.) in Physics /Geophysics /Space Physics /Atmospheric Science /Applied Geology /Applied Mathematics /Applied Geophysics /Marine Geophysics and allied subjects with minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA marks in M.Sc. /M.Sc.(Tech.), and Physics or Mathematics as a subject in B.Sc. Candidates appearing in final year Master’s exam and expecting results before August 2026 may also apply. SC /ST /OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) /PwBD /EWS candidates get 5% relaxation in marks as per UGC norms.
